The all-new, all-electric KONA Electric is here, encircling you in a world of luxury with its sleek, modern style. For the adventure-seeking person in you, this electric SUV is a lightning bolt—bigger, bolder, longer.
The design of the new Kona Electric, which is launching its second generation as a fully electric crossover with a more cyborg-inspired aesthetic, makes the previous five years of the Kona look absolutely drab.
The length, width, and wheelbase of the 2024 Kona have all increased, giving it more capacity, space for a bigger battery, and a more comfortable ride. The maximum driving range has also been increased to an estimated 260 miles, albeit very slightly. Only front-wheel drive is available for the Kona Electric, and the two available battery packs have different outputs of 133 and 201 horsepower. For 2024, the gas-powered Kona, which is examined separately, also receives a comprehensive makeover.

There are two distinct battery packs available from Kona Electric. A 48.6-kWh unit with an estimated range of 200 miles is used in the standard Kona Electric. Hyundai states that with DC charging, the Kona Electric can recharge its battery pack from 10% to 80% in 43 minutes.

3. Kona EV Interior
Fit and quality on the new Kona Electric have been much improved for the next generation. Hyundai opens up the interior space with a floating horizontal center pad to remove portion of the partition between the front passenger seats, elevating the subcompact EV from an environmentally conscious-feeling box.
4. Kona EV Performance
A single electric motor powers every Kona Electric vehicle, which has front-wheel drive. The base model has 133 horsepower, but there is also a more potent 201-hp variant.
Although it has been designed with comfort in mind, the Kona’s handling is respectable, and its quiet electric drivetrain and secluded cabin make it a comfortable commuter.
5. Kona EV Infotainment
The new Kona Electric is equipped with two 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and vehicle information in order to remain competitive in the pixel wars. This new seamless unit is larger than the available 10.3-inch display and replaces the conventional 8.0-inch touchscreen of the previous model. It’s expected that Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay will be standard features.
