New coach Irwansyah Adi Pratama has expressed confidence that two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will regain her supremacy and enhance her position in the sport with his support. The Indonesian coach, recognized for his role as the head coach of Indonesia’s men’s singles team, has a distinct goal: to develop Sindhu into a more offensive athlete with improved speed and strength.

Sindhu, seeking to regain her form after a challenging couple of years, displayed her skills in a 21-15, 21-13 triumph over Japanese player Manami Suizu in the women’s singles Round of 16.

The last two years have been full of ups and downs for Sindhu. Although she secured major titles such as the Syed Modi Super 300, the Singapore Open, and a gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2022, injuries have often interrupted her progress.

A stress fracture kept her out for a portion of the 2022 season, and a knee injury in October 2023 hindered her advancement even more. In spite of these challenges, Sindhu showcased flashes of her talent, making it to the finals at the Spain Masters and Malaysia Masters Super 500.

After Sindhu’s first-round win against world No. 24 Sung Shuo Yun at the India Open Super 750, Irwansyah conveyed his confidence in her potential to exceed her past accomplishments. “She has all the right qualities,” he told news agency PTI. “I want to build on that and push her further. I believe she can come back stronger and reach even higher levels.”

Irwansyah recognizes the physical and psychological impact of these difficulties. His main goal is to assist Sindhu in restoring her confidence and happiness while she competes on the court. “When she takes pleasure in the game, her confidence increases.” “That’s crucial at the moment – assisting her in acknowledging her vast potential,” he clarified.

Irwansyah’s approach focuses on refining Sindhu’s technique and adapting her playing style to emphasize aggressive play. “I intend to make her more offensive.” “She can overpower her rivals with speed and strength,” he stated. Furthermore, he underscores the significance of discipline, rest, nutrition, and a comprehensive strategy that includes strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, and mental readiness.

During her second round match PV Sindhu looked aggressive and gave glimpses of Sindhu of the past. It will be important to see can Sindhu win the coveted India Open Title this time around..

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
