Chinmoy Prabhu, a well-known monk who was leading demonstrations against injustices towards Hindus in Bangladesh, was reportedly taken into custody by the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Police on Monday (November 25). Reportedly, he was held at the airport in Dhaka.

Chinmoy Prabhu spoke at a large protest gathering in Rangpur, a country plagued by violence, on Friday to denounce the mistreatment of Hindus in Bangladesh.

Prabhu was one of the eighteen Hindus accused of sedition for raising a saffron flag in Bangladesh.

This event occurs as tensions in Bangladesh have increased due to the growing number of reports of violence against Hindus, such as attacks on temples, homes, and businesses.

A picture of Chinmoy was posted on a Facebook page linked to Pundarik Dham, stating that he was taken by people who said they were DB police at Dhaka airport.

Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallik of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch confirmed that Chinmoy Krishna had been taken into custody.

He stated that he was arrested due to a formal request after a report was made. He will be transferred to the appropriate police station as required.

The detective officer was unable to immediately provide specific information about the accusations against Chinmoy.

Swatantra Gauranga Das Brahmachari, a leader of the alliance, told bdnews24.com, “Chinmoy Prabhu was supposed to fly from Dhaka to Chattogram. We have heard that police picked him up from the airport.”

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
