Chinmoy Prabhu, a well-known monk who was leading demonstrations against injustices towards Hindus in Bangladesh, was reportedly taken into custody by the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Police on Monday (November 25). Reportedly, he was held at the airport in Dhaka.
Chinmoy Prabhu spoke at a large protest gathering in Rangpur, a country plagued by violence, on Friday to denounce the mistreatment of Hindus in Bangladesh.
Prabhu was one of the eighteen Hindus accused of sedition for raising a saffron flag in Bangladesh.
This event occurs as tensions in Bangladesh have increased due to the growing number of reports of violence against Hindus, such as attacks on temples, homes, and businesses.
A picture of Chinmoy was posted on a Facebook page linked to Pundarik Dham, stating that he was taken by people who said they were DB police at Dhaka airport.
