The funny exchanges between Delhi Capitals pair KL Rahul and mentor Kevin Pietersen continues to entertain, delighting fans completely. In the latest addition to the fun, Rahul cunningly and humorously poked fun at Pietersen for his Maldives trip in the middle of the season, just as the ex-England captain was explaining the mentor’s role in a franchise.
Pietersen was not a part of Delhi’s match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 10, yet the team managed to come out triumphant in that game. He returned to the team for their next match against the Mumbai Indians on April 13.
Delhi has had a fantastic season so far, securing victories in five of their six matches and sitting pretty at the top of the standings.
In the currently viral video shared by DC on their social media platforms, Pietersen is observed greeting Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill. “Great, what’s going on?” Gill responded in return.
“Dude, what’s a mentor? Nobody knowns what a mentor truly is. Can you tell me what a mentor is?” Pietersen was observed making jokes regarding his role.
“Mentor is someone who goes to the Maldives for two weeks mid-season,” Rahul replied, leaving Pietersen dumbfounded. Watch the video here:
The Capitals comfortably lead with 10 points after six matches, while the Titans closely follow with eight from the same number of games.
