Two more flights run by Indian carriers were targeted with bomb threats on Friday and Saturday nights, adding to the ongoing series of fake threats. In only one week, a total of 16 flights have received threats resembling each other.
Vistara flight from Delhi to London redirected to Frankfurt; security checks found no danger
Officials stated that a Vistara flight from Delhi to London had to be redirected to Frankfurt on Saturday morning due to a bomb threat. Following extensive security checks that found no threats, the flight continued its trip to London.
The Vistara flight from Delhi to London safely landed at Frankfurt Airport and underwent necessary inspections around 12.40 am (Indian time). The airline stated that it took off from Frankfurt and was headed to London after approximately two hours.
“Vistara flight UK17 operating from Delhi to London on October 18, 2024 received a security threat on social media. In line with the protocol, all relevant authorities were immediately informed and as a precautionary measure, the pilots decided to divert the flight to Frankfurt,” the airline spokesperson said.

Officials reported that an e-mail threat was received by an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Jaipur, carrying 189 passengers. The aircraft landed at 1.20 am and nothing suspicious was found after the checks.
Authorities recently traced a suspect behind multiple threats
In the midst of multiple bomb threats targeting various Indian flights, authorities have identified a suspect believed to be behind the threats using the online alias ‘schizobomber777’. As per reports, the culprit directed the operation through IP addresses that were traced to London and Germany.
Reports indicated that the X account, currently being investigated, was created on Tuesday and shared seven false messages that caused serious aviation security concerns. The handle is no longer in operation.
