After moving himself up the order at No 3, LSK skipper Rishabh Pant has gotten off to a strong start against RCB in their IPL 2025 match. LSG is at 48/1 following 5 overs, with Pant and Mitchell Marsh batting. LSG newcomer Matthew Breetzke was out by RCB newcomer Nuwan Thushara.

Stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the toss and chose to bowl against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the last league game of IPL 2025. RCB requires a victory to secure a spot in the top two and a place in Qualifier 1 for the playoffs.

Conversely, the LSG team, captained by Rishabh Pant, is competing for honor in their final home match. RCB veteran Virat Kohli is close to shattering two significant records in IPL history.

Kohli eyes two massive records

In the match against LSG, Virat Kohli will look to achieve two big records today:

  1. Kohli requires 24 runs to be the first player to achieve 9,000 runs for a single franchise.
  2. Kohli is one half-century shy of establishing the record for the most fifties in IPL history (Currently at 62, tied with David Warner).
