Turkey supplied over 350 drones to Pak during India Conflict: Reports

During Operation Sindoor, two Turkish military operatives were killed, indicating that Turkey assisted Pakistan in its conflict with India by providing over 350 drones and operators, according to sources reported by India Today TV.

Sources indicate that Turkish advisors assisted Pakistani Army officials in coordinating drone strikes on India following Operation Sindoor.

Pak used Bayraktar TB2 and YIHA drones against India

It is reported that Pakistan has utilized Bayraktar TB2 and YIHA drones in actions against India. The drones are thought to be utilized for identifying targets, and possibly for suicide attacks, particularly to intimidate advancing Indian positions or supply routes.

Turkey’s strategic defense relationship with Pakistan has expanded rapidly in recent years. The Turkish government has provided essential military equipment and has also carried out training for the army of Pakistan.

As much as, the ‘Boycott Turkey’ campaign increased its traction because of Ankara’s strengthening ties with Islamabad, which negatively impacted Indian interests — as evidenced by the recently finished conflict between the South Asian nations.

Indian exports to Turkey post Covid have enhanced the country

Experts suggest that the growth of Indian exports to Turkey after Covid-19 has enabled Turkey to enhance its defense manufacturing.

During the nights of May 7 and 8, the Pakistan Army deployed approximately 300–400 drones to strike Indian military facilities situated along the northern and western borders.

“The Indian armed forces shot down many of these dones using kinetic and non-kinetic means. The possible purpose of such large-scale aerial intrusions was to test air defence systems and collect intelligence,” Colonel Qureshi added.

On Wednesday, India restricted access to the Turkish news agency TRT on the microblogging site X due to Ankara’s military backing of Islamabad during its recent four-day conflict with Delhi. During a press conference on Operation Sindoor, the Army stated that Pakistan utilized Turkish drones to strike military facilities at 36 sites from Leh to Sir Creek.
