More than 100 travelers on an Air India flight headed to New Delhi were stuck in Phuket, Thailand, for over 80 hours because of multiple recurring technical problems with the plane. Travelers took to social media to recount their experience, alleging lack of assistance from the airline’s staff amid the extended wait.

Air India reported that the flight, initially planned for the evening of November 16, experienced a six-hour delay due to a technical issue.

However, the issue worsened when travelers were delayed for hours at the airport, eventually getting on the plane, just to be taken off an hour later when the flight was suddenly canceled.

Air India has admitted to the cancellation and conveyed regret for the inconvenience caused. The airline announced in a statement.

“While our personnel at the destination worked to reduce the inconvenience for the guests by offering assistance such as hotel stays and meals, some of them were also placed on different flights. Passengers were given the choice of receiving full refunds for cancellations and were also able to reschedule for free. At Air India, the top priority is ensuring the safety and security of our passengers and crew,” Air India said in its response.

Yet, passengers claim the contrary. Social media posts depict a disorganized situation with infrequent and inadequate updates from airline personnel. Numerous travelers mentioned Air India on X, detailing their struggles and requesting explanations, yet they report receiving minimal or no helpful replies.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
