During his official two-day trip to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India is progressing towards MIGA (Make India Great Again), akin to MAGA (Make America Great Again). PM Modi stated that MIGA and MAGA have united to form a significant partnership for prosperity.
PM Modi and the US President conducted a bilateral discussion at the White House on Thursday, during which the leaders chose to enhance their cooperation in several areas, such as trade, energy, and defense.
During the meeting, marking their initial formal engagement since Trump began his second term, India consented to buy additional US oil and gas, while Trump declared that the US would boost military exports to India, alongside other agreements.

“The citizens of America are fully aware of President Trump’s slogan ‘MAGA – Make America Great Again.’ The citizens of India are also concentrating on both heritage and advancement as they progress rapidly and with strong determination towards achieving the aim of Viksit Bharat 2047. In American terms, it’s Make India Great Again – MIGA. When the United States and India collaborate, this MAGA alongside MIGA transforms into a ‘mega partnership for prosperity,’ and it is this grand vision that enhances the scale and breadth of our goals,” stated the Prime Minister.
The two leaders additionally declared that India and the US aim for a USD 500 billion goal for bilateral trade by 2030.
“Today, we have established an objective to more than double our bilateral trade, aiming for USD 500 billion by 2030. Our teams will soon complete a trade agreement that benefits both sides,” PM Modi stated, noting that the two nations are progressing towards collaborative development, shared production, and technology transfer.
“We will enhance oil and gas commerce to guarantee India’s energy security. Investment in energy infrastructure is set to rise. In the nuclear energy field, we discussed enhancing our collaboration regarding small modular reactors. The United States is crucial to India’s defense readiness. In the next few days, advancements in technology and tools will enhance our capacity,” he stated.

PM Modi also declared that Washington and New Delhi are working to finalize a “mutually advantageous trade agreement” in the near future.
The Prime Minister’s trip to the U.S. capital follows just a few days after the Trump administration sent back 104 Indians in handcuffs and shackles aboard a military plane, provoking outrage in India.
