Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu) [India], August (POWER CORRIDORS): The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) at Trichy International Airport arrested a passenger on Wednesday and seized 216.500 grams of 24-carat gold worth Rs. 12.84 Lakh.

According to the official, the gold was seized from a passenger who arrived from Kuala Lumpur on August 23, 2023.

The confiscated gold was ingeniously six cylindrical Gold pieces concealed in toys, all of which were of 24-carat purity.

Based on intelligence, the AIU, Trichy Airport seized six cylindrical Gold pieces of 24K purity weighing 216.500 grams and valued at Rs. 12.84 Lakh. The Gold was ingeniously concealed in toys by a passenger who arrived from Kuala Lumpur on 23.08.2023.

Further investigation is underway.

On August 23, 2023, the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Customs Department seized gold worth Rs. 12.84 from a passenger coming from Kuala Lumpur at Tiruchirappalli International Airport.

According to the Customs Department, the passenger was traveling from Kuala Lumpur. He was carrying the gold in six cylindrical Gold pieces concealed in toys.

The Customs officials intercepted him and seized 216.500 grams of gold worth Rs. 12.84 Lakh (POWER CORRIDORS).
