The first-ever modular cricket stadium, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, is currently under construction and should be finished in just three months.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is expected to feature eight matches at the 34,000-seat stadium, the most notable of which is the high-profile match between India and Pakistan on June 9.
The stadium will have a variety of seating options, such as cabanas and a special party deck in addition to VIP and hospitality suites, premium and general admission, and more.

“Sustainable Transformation: Populous Repurposes Formula 1 Grandstands for T20 World Cup at the Crossroads of Iconic Stadium Design and Environmental Consciousness.”
This project is centered around sustainability. The grandstands, which were originally intended for the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, are being converted into a new location for the T20 World Cup.
Populous, the design team behind this massive project, is well-known for producing some of the most famous stadiums in the world, such as the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London and the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
They are the New York Yankees’ and New York Mets’ architect of record in New York.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice stated, “We are excited to be unveiling the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.”

In Florida, the wicket—a drop-in square akin to those at Adelaide Oval and Eden Park—is presently undergoing curation. Early in May, it will be shipped to New York.
The location, which is 30 miles east of Manhattan, will have ample parking and transportation options. There are also three nearby train stations.
Eight T20 World Cup matches, starting with the match between Sri Lanka and South Africa on June 3, will be held at the venue, giving fans the chance to witness history firsthand and watch some of the best players in the world perform.
