Skoda Auto India will commence bookings for the Kylaq today (December 2) starting at 4PM. The firm has also revealed the variant-specific prices of the Kylaq. The base variant of Skoda’s inaugural sub-4 metre SUV is priced at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries of the Kylaq will begin on January 27, 2025. Skoda announced that the initial 33,333 customers will receive a free 3-year standard maintenance package.

The Skoda Kylaq comes in four versions — Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige. Here are their prices (excluding the showroom).

Skoda introduced its inaugural sub-4 metre compact SUV, the Kylaq, on November 6. Skoda has ventured into the intensely competitive compact SUV market. The Kylaq will compete with vehicles such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3X0.

On November 15, Skoda launched a membership initiative for its compact SUV called the Kylaq Club. The initiative was created to attract prospective customers and assist them during their experience, from reserving to buying the Skoda Kylaq. Membership registrations were closed as of November 30.

Skoda Kylaq specifications

Equipped with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine generating 115bhp and 178Nm of torque, the Kylaq is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Skoda asserts that the Kylaq can achieve a maximum speed of 188 km/h and go from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds with the manual gearbox.

Regarding size, the Kylaq is 230mm less in length compared to the Kushaq. The Kylaq has dimensions of 3,995mm in length, 1,783mm in width, and 1,619mm in height, featuring a wheelbase of 2,566mm, which is 85mm less than the Kushaq, and a ground clearance of 189mm.

Regarding safety, the Kylaq includes more than 25 standard active and passive safety features. These feature six airbags, stability and traction control, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), brake disk cleaning, rollover safeguards, motor slip regulation, electronic differential lock, passenger airbag disablement, multi-collision braking, and ISOFIX child seat attachments.

The Kylaq features Skoda’s Modern Solid design language, initially introduced with the Skoda Elroq, showcasing impressive character lines all over. It showcases a shiny black grille with 3D ribs, deviating from Skoda’s classic radiator grille.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
