Satyapal Malik, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the age of 79. He breathed his last at Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital after battling a prolonged illness. The news of his demise was confirmed by his personal secretary, K.S. Rana.
According to hospital authorities, Malik died at 1:10 PM on Tuesday. He had been undergoing treatment for kidney-related complications and had been admitted to the hospital since May 11. As part of his treatment, he had been receiving regular dialysis sessions.

Malik had shared updates about his health in the weeks leading up to his death. On June 8, he posted on social media describing his condition as “serious.” A day earlier, on June 7, he had revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that he had been hospitalised for over a month due to kidney issues.
