Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is stable and out of danger after undergoing emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital, his team confirmed. The actor sustained six stab wounds, two of which were close to his spine, during a burglary attempt at his Bandra home early Thursday morning. Saif is currently in recovery and being monitored by a team of medical professionals.
The attack took place at approximately 2:15 a.m. when an intruder broke into Saif’s residence. The burglar reportedly assaulted a house help before Saif intervened to protect his staff. Despite being unarmed, the actor confronted the attacker and sustained serious injuries in the process. His wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their younger son Jeh were present in the house but were unharmed.
According to sources, Saif was alerted by commotion in Jeh’s room and rushed to find the intruder engaged in a heated altercation with the house help. Saif fought off the attacker barehanded, displaying immense courage but suffering multiple injuries.
