In a high-stakes semi-final showdown at the ICC Under-19 World Cup, Sachin Dhas and Uday Saharan emerged as the heroes for Team India. The gritty duo guided the defending champions to a stunning victory over South Africa and secured a spot in the tournament final for the fifth consecutive time.

Into the finals of the #U19WorldCup and the 🇮🇳 boys have done it in some style.
They had a mountain to climb after going 4 down on just 34.

How Sachin Dhas and Uday Saharan scripted history for India

Sachin Dhas, in particular, played a pivotal role with his explosive innings, falling just four runs short of a well-deserved century. His aggressive approach saw him score a brisk 96 runs off 95 balls, including 11 boundaries and a six, which injected momentum into India’s chase. On the other hand, Uday Saharan showcased exemplary leadership and composure, anchoring the innings with a crucial knock of 81 runs off 124 deliveries.

Dhas and Saharan stitched a record-breaking partnership of 171 runs for the fifth wicket, steering India from a precarious position to the brink of victory. Their remarkable stand not only turned the tide in India’s favor but also etched their names in the annals of Under-19 World Cup history as they scripted the highest fifth-wicket partnership in the tournament’s history.

Despite a late flurry of wickets towards the end of the chase, India ultimately crossed the finishing line with two wickets in hand. The semi-final win was also their sixth consecutive win of the tournament, highlighting their remarkable consistency and teamwork.

The victory epitomized India’s dominance in the tournament, where they showcased exceptional talent and determination in every match. With an unbeaten streak and a string of convincing victories, India has firmly established itself as the team to beat in the ICC Under-19 World Cup.
