‘Water leaking from roof of Ram Temple after rain’: Acharya Satyendra Das

Water was leaking from the ceiling of the sanctum sanctorum at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, after the first heavy showers since it opened to the public, according to chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das on Monday.

Alleging incompetence in the temple’s construction, Das stated that there was also no plan for draining rainwater from the temple grounds following the showers on Saturday midnight and urged temple authorities to take corrective action.

According to temple trust sources, once senior officials were alerted of the water pouring from the roof, the chairman of the temple construction committee, Nripendra Mishra, arrived at the temple and given instructions to fix the roof and make it watertight.

‘Hope temple will be constructed by December’: Acharya Das

Speaking separately to media on the status of temple building, Mishra stated that work on the first level was underway and expected to be completed by July of this year, with the aim that the temple would be completed by December.

Acharya Satyendra Das told reporters that after the first heavy showers at midnight on Saturday, there was substantial leakage from the temple’s sanctum sanctorum roof. Rainwater was flowing from the roof immediately above the priest’s seat in front of Ram Lalla’s idol, where visitors come for VIP darshan, he claimed.

“It is very surprising that engineers from all over the country are building the Ram temple. The temple was inaugurated on January 22. But, no one knew that if it rains, the roof would leak. It is surprising that the roof of a world-famous temple is leaking. Why did this happen?”

“Such an incident is happening in the presence of such big engineers, which is very wrong,” he said.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
