India’s captain Rohit Sharma and rising opener Yashasvi Jaiswal have been included in Mumbai’s 17-player team for the Ranji Trophy game against Jammu and Kashmir, starting on January 23. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced on Monday that both Rohit and Yashasvi will compete under Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy.

Rohit confirmed at a press conference that he would participate in the Ranji Trophy while announcing India’s teams for a three-match ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy.

When inquired whether he would participate in the forthcoming Ranji Trophy match, Rohit responded, “I will.”

Rohit will enter the Ranji Trophy following a disappointing series in Australia, where the Indian captain could only accumulate 31 runs in five Test innings.

The captain of India practiced with the Mumbai team on January 15 after the BCCI required players to take part in the domestic tournament.

“(In) the last 6-7 years, I can at least tell about what has happened with me since I’ve started playing Test cricket regularly, which is from 2019, you hardly have any time (in hand),” Rohit told the reporters.

Rohit mentioned that cricketers avoid playing domestic matches because of their hectic commitments with the national team.

Mumbai squad: Ajinkya Rahane (captain), Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ayush Mhatre, Shreyas Iyer, Siddhesh Lad, Shivam Dube, Hardik Tamore (wk), Akash Anand (wk), Tanush Kotian, Shams Mulani, Himanshu Singh, Shardul Thakur, Mohit Awasthi, Sylvester Dsouza, Royston Dias, Karsh Kothari.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
