Rakesh Kumar, a resident of IDPL area of pilgrim city Rishikesh, has created a new history by winning the title of Indian Rummy Grandmasters (IRG) in the prestigious mind games competition SOG Grandmasters Series (North and East Zone). Hundreds of participants from 15 states across the country took part in this national level competition held in Gurugram, in which Rakesh secured the top position by demonstrating his excellent mental skills.

During the competition, Rakesh defeated all the participants by displaying his brilliant understanding, memory and quick decision making ability. In mind games, especially games like rummy, the player not only has to guess the opponent’s thinking but also has to make precise moves while maintaining mental balance. Rakesh proved himself unmatched in all these aspects.
Rakesh got a grand welcome in the city:
When Rakesh returned to his hometown Rishikesh after winning this prestigious title, the locals came out on the streets to give him a warm welcome. It was a proud moment for the people of the city. After winning this title, Rakesh said that this is the result of his years of hard work. He said that receiving the honour from the 1983 World Cup winning team captain Kapil Dev and Haryana Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam is like a dream come true for him.
