New Delhi, February 16, 2026 — Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has secured interim bail after depositing ₹1.5 crore, bringing temporary relief in an ongoing cheque bounce case that had led to his custody at Tihar Jail.

Yadav had been taken into custody after being directed by the court to surrender in connection with multiple cheque dishonour cases. Seeking relief, the actor filed a plea requesting interim bail, citing personal circumstances including an urgent family wedding. The matter was heard last week, with the court granting him time until 3 p.m. on Monday, February 16, to deposit ₹1.5 crore as a condition for bail.

Complying with the court’s directive, Yadav deposited the required amount within the stipulated deadline. Taking note of this development, the Delhi High Court ordered the interim suspension of his sentence, allowing him to remain out of custody until March 18, 2026, when the case will be heard again.

As part of the bail conditions, the court directed Yadav to furnish a personal bond of ₹1 lakh along with one surety of the same amount. The bench noted that the substantial deposit made in favour of the respondent was a key factor in granting interim relief.

Yadav’s manager, Goldie, confirmed the development and expressed relief over the court’s decision. “Yes, it’s true that Rajpal sir has been granted bail. It is a matter of great joy and a happy day for all of us,” he said. He also revealed that the actor is expected to address the media soon. “He will hold a press conference in the coming days to speak about the matter and clarify his position,” the manager added.

The interim bail offers temporary reprieve for the actor, though legal proceedings in the cheque bounce case remain ongoing. The next hearing, scheduled for March 18, will determine the future course of the case and whether the relief granted to Yadav will be extended or modified.

Rajpal Yadav, known for his distinctive comic performances in numerous Hindi films, now faces both legal scrutiny and public attention as the case moves toward its next stage.
