Rahul takes cues from BJP, LG in attacking Kejriwal

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has intensified his criticism of Arvind Kejriwal, mocking his promise of a "Paris-like Delhi" by highlighting poor civic conditions in Rithala. Echoing BJP and Lt. Governor VK Saxena’s charges, Gandhi accused Kejriwal of prioritizing propaganda over governance.

In the run-up to the Delhi Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi has joined BJP leaders in slamming AAP’s governance. From sanitation woes to rising pollution, Gandhi’s attacks align with long-standing BJP criticisms of Kejriwal’s administration.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has sharpened his attacks on AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, echoing criticisms previously leveled by BJP leaders and Delhi’s Lt. Governor VK Saxena. Gandhi’s remarks have added fuel to the ongoing AAP vs. BJP+Congress political battle in the national capital.

Rahul Gandhi’s Swipe at Kejriwal’s “Paris-like Delhi”

While campaigning in Rithala ahead of next month’s Delhi Assembly elections, Gandhi shared a video of a garbage-filled nullah and broken roads in the constituency. Mocking Kejriwal’s earlier promise of transforming Delhi into a city comparable to Paris, Gandhi tweeted:

“This is Kejriwal’s ‘shining’ Delhi — the Delhi like Paris!”

In the video, Gandhi is seen walking through the unhygienic area, highlighting its dire conditions and interacting with frustrated locals. The Congress used hashtags like “#SaafKaroDilli” to amplify the message, urging voters to reconsider their choices.

Gandhi’s criticism extended beyond infrastructure issues. At a rally in Seelampur, he accused Kejriwal of adopting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s playbook of “propaganda and false promises,” citing rising pollution, corruption, and inflation under AAP’s governance.

BJP’s Longstanding Criticism of AAP

BJP leaders have consistently targeted the Kejriwal-led government over issues like poor sanitation, alleged corruption, and administrative inefficiencies. BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana remarked, “Rahul Gandhi is finally seeing the truth we’ve been stating for years—AAP’s governance is a sham.”

Lt. Governor VK Saxena has also accused the Delhi government of mishandling funds and failing to address basic civic issues. Saxena has repeatedly emphasized that the AAP government has prioritized publicity over actual development, echoing Gandhi’s criticisms.

AAP Hits Back

Responding to the attacks, AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj dismissed Gandhi’s remarks as political opportunism, saying, “The Congress and BJP are working hand in hand to stop Delhi’s progress. It’s ironic that the Congress, which failed to clean Delhi during its 15-year rule, is now talking about sanitation.”

Kejriwal, defending his government, pointed to achievements in education, healthcare, and electricity, claiming that AAP has transformed Delhi in ways Congress and BJP never could. He said, “Let Rahul Gandhi walk through the government schools and mohalla clinics we built. The people of Delhi know the truth.”

A Three-Way Battle in Delhi

''अगर किसी को एक बार आरक्षण मिल जाए तो उसे दोबारा आरक्षण नहीं मिलना चाहिए।''

आरक्षण पर केजरीवाल जी के विचार सुन लीजिए।

यही वजह है कि ये आरक्षण की 50% की सीमा को बढ़ाने और जातिगत जनगणना पर खामोश रहते हैं।

With the Congress and BJP aligning their criticisms of AAP, the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections are shaping into a three-way contest. Gandhi’s decision to target Kejriwal aligns Congress with BJP’s long-standing narrative, raising questions about whether this will help consolidate opposition votes against AAP or further polarize the electorate.

As the campaign heats up, the focus remains on whether Kejriwal can retain his grip on Delhi amidst mounting criticism from two major national parties.
