Dravid led Team India to T20 World cup victory in Caribbean
Rajasthan Royals announced that Rahul Dravid will be the head coach of their team for the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dravid will become head coach of the franchise immediately and will be part of the planning for the 2025 season, including the upcoming mega auction.
Dravid, who led India to victory in the T20 World Cup in July, will be back with the franchise for the first time since 2015. Dravid captained the Royals in the IPL in 2012 and 2013, then took on the role of mentor and Director of Cricket in 2014 and 2015, before transitioning to Delhi Capitals. After spending four additional seasons as head coach in the IPL, Dravid became the India U19 coach in 2019.

Dravid’s upcoming role with Rajasthan will mark his first professional job after finishing his three-year stint as head coach of the senior men’s national team in July.
Dravid held talks with Sangakarra
Dravid has already spoken with Sangakkara and the rest of the management team as the franchise gets ready for retention and auction, which will take place later this year.
“I am pleased to be returning to the franchise I have called ‘home’ for a number of years in the past. After the World Cup, I feel it’s the ideal time for me to take on another challenge, and the Royals is the perfect place to do that,” Dravid said in a statement.
