Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 3 Voting
Voting in the third phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections is now taking place in 94 seats across 10 states and 1 Union territory. In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cast his vote.
Voter turnout in the first two phases of the polls was 66.14 percent on April 19 and 66.71 percent on April 26 respectively.

In this phase, votes can be cast at 1.85 lakh polling places by a total of 17.24 crore voters. According to the poll panel, 75 participants from 23 different nations will witness the voting procedure.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Digvijaya Singh, Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, leader of the Samajwadi Party Dimple Yadav, and leader of the NCP (SP) Supriya Sule are among the notable figures who will be competing in today’s poll.
Assam (4 seats), Bihar (5 seats), Chhattisgarh (7 seats), Goa (2 seats), Gujarat (26 seats), Karnataka (14 seats), Madhya Pradesh (8 seats), Maharashtra (11 seats), Uttar Pradesh (10 seats), West Bengal (4 seats), Jammu and Kashmir (1 seat), Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu (2 seats) are the states that will be voting in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
Polling in Anantnag-Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, which was scheduled for Phase 3 has been shifted to Phase 6 while polling in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul which was scheduled for Phase 3 voting is currently taking place in Phase 2.
PM Modi casts vote in Gujarat
As the polling for the third phase of the 18th Lok Sabha polls began on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cast his ballot in Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s Nishan Higher Secondary School. Union Home Minister Amit Shah greeted the Prime Minister upon his arrival at Nishan Higher Secondary School.

“Today is the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections. I appeal to everyone to cast their vote in this democracy. The election campaign will run for three to four weeks more. I always cast my vote here in Gujarat. (Union Minister) Amit Shah is contesting the election from here as a BJP candidate. I came here yesterday from Andhra Pradesh and need to go to Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana,” said PM Modi after casting his vote.
PM Modi, who wore a saffron-colored half jacket over a white kurta-pyjama and Amit Shah walked to the polling place together. While traveling, he paused to wave at passersby and autograph a drawing of himself.
A third term in office is sought by the BJP led by Narendra Modi, while the opposition INDIA alliance hopes to overthrow the party by putting an end to its momentum.
