PM Modi attacks Rahul Gandhi over Pitroda remarks
In response to controversial remarks made by party leader Sam Pitroda on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, claiming that Pitroda’s words insulted numerous people of the nation based on their skin color.
Pitroda stirred up controversy earlier in the day when he said that people from South India looked like Africans while people from East India looked like Chinese.
“When insults are directed at me, I can take it, but not when they are directed at my people,” said PM Modi addressing an election rally in the Warangal district of Telangana.
“We are the people who worship Lord Krishna, regardless of the color of our skin. I’m angry right now. Those who keep the Constitution above their head are insulting people based on the color of their skin,” PM Modi said.

“Who let ‘shehzaada’ (a term used to refer to Rahul Gandhi) treat my people in such a demeaning way? “Shehzaade,” you must respond. It is a racist mindset that we will not tolerate,” the Prime Minister added.
In addition, PM Modi stated in his speech that “the Congress tries very hard to defeat President Droupadi Murmu since she also hails from a ‘Adivasi’ (tribal) family.”
Sam Pitroda’s remarks stir up controversy
Senior Congressman Sam Pitroda stirred up yet another controversy in his bid to promote national unity. Pitroda’s remark last month regarding an inheritance tax in the US caused a major dispute with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
In an interview with The Statesman newspaper, Sam Pitroda said, “We could hold together a country as diverse as India — where people on East look like Chinese, people on West look like Arab, people on North look like maybe White and people in South look like Africans. It doesn’t matter. We are all brothers and sisters.”

The Congress has refrained from endorsing the statement.
Sam Pitroda made incredibly incorrect and inappropriate comparisons between India’s diversity and other countries. The Indian National Congress distances itself from these comparisons in full.
Senior BJP figures have criticized the remark, including N Biren Singh, the chief minister of Manipur, and Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, who both posted on X. “Sam bhai, I am from the northeast, and I look like an Indian. We are a diverse country – we may look different, but we are all one.”
