Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Washington DC for a two-day visit. During his visit, PM Modi plans to conduct bilateral talks with US President Donald Trump on Thursday, February 13.
Trade, energy, defense, security, technology collaboration, and strategic cooperation are some of the many issues that the two leaders are anticipated to discuss.
PM Modi tweeted upon his arrival that he was looking forward to meet with President Trump in order to deepen the relationship between the US and India.
“Landed in Washington DC a short while ago. Looking forward to meeting @POTUS Donald Trump and building upon the India-USA Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. Our nations will keep working closely for the benefit of our people and for a better future for our planet,” the PM wrote on X.

This is Modi’s first trip to the United States since Donald Trump returned to the White House for a second term.
After Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Japan’s Shigeru Ishiba, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, PM Modi will be the fourth international leader to meet Trump during his second term in office.
PM Modi will stay at the Blair House, the historic guest house reserved for dignitaries visiting the White House, when he is in the United States.
Presidents, princes, and international leaders have previously stayed at the Blair House, commonly regarded as the “world’s most exclusive hotel”.
Before Prime Minister Modi arrived in the US capital, members of the Indian community gathered outside Blair House, brandishing the Indian tricolour and the Star-Spangled Banner.
The Indian leader did not disappoint the people of the Indian community who had waited for him outside the Blair House, meeting with them and greeting them with enthusiasm.
