On Saturday, Pakistan breached the ceasefire agreement at various points along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC), just hours after both countries reached a truce. Sources indicate that the Border Security Force (BSF) has been instructed to respond decisively to any breaches of the ceasefire.

The escalation from Pakistan took place soon after India declared that a ceasefire pact had been established between the two countries, after Islamabad had begun truce negotiations. The government of Pakistan also affirmed this shortly after.

“What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!,” Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdulla tweeted.

Numerous explosions were reported in Srinagar, and a blackout was imposed in the region. A drone has been downed in Rajasthan’s Pokhran and also in Baramulla, Kashmir.

The Pakistan Army engaged in artillery shelling across the International Border in the Akhnoor, Rajouri, and RS Pura areas.

In Palanwalla sector of Jammu, Ceasefire violations were reported along the Line of Control (LoC)

In Baramulla, a drone was downed and suspicious Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were detected. A blackout has been implemented in both Baramulla and Srinagar. Drones were observed in Rajouri, and an air raid alarm was reported in the Samba district of the Jammu area.

India-Pakistan Ceasefire

The violation of the ceasefire agreement by Pakistan occurred as Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that his nation believes is a new start in addressing the problems that have troubled the region and hindered the path to ‘peace, prosperity, and stability’.

Just hours prior to the new wave of aggression from Pakistan, New Delhi and Islamabad had consented to cease military operations against one another after more than three days of heavy gunfire, triggered by the neighboring nation’s deployment of drones towards India following the Indian armed forces’ ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7, aimed at terrorist infrastructure.

The ‘full and immediate’ ceasefire between India and Pakistan was initially declared on Saturday by US President Donald Trump, asserting that it stemmed from the US-facilitated discussions.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described it as a ceasefire facilitated by the US, praising Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif for “their wisdom, prudence, and statesmanship in choosing the path of peace.”

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
