On Saturday, the US conducted strikes on Iran’s nuclear facility, referred to as Operation Midnight Hammer, utilizing more than 125 aircraft and implementing a deception strategy that sent bombers over the Pacific as a “decoy,” a senior US general reported on Sunday.
During a White House briefing, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine stated that the military operation against Iran included seven B-2 stealth bombers which dropped over a dozen 30,000-pound Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs on the nuclear sites Fordow and Natanz, while Tomahawk missiles targeted Isfahan.
In a significant setback for Iran’s nuclear program, the US military on Saturday targeted three vital nuclear facilities in Iran – Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. The US has not only become involved in a significant escalation of the Israel-Iran conflict, but the attacks have also heightened worries about potential radiation, as all the targets were nuclear facilities.

US Defence Secretary Hegseth stated that the strikes did not aim at any civilian or Iranian forces and were not associated with any regime change actions. He mentioned that the attacks were focused exclusively on military targets and did not affect any civilians or Iranian forces.
“This mission was not, and is not, focused on changing the regime. The operation that President Trump orchestrated was daring and clever, demonstrating to the world that American deterrence has returned. When this President talks, the world needs to pay attention,” noted Hegseth.
Nonetheless, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization stated on Sunday that it would not permit the halt of its “national industry” – seemingly referring to the nation’s nuclear development. It also claimed that the assaults on its nuclear facilities breach international law, without specifying the level of damage caused by the airstrikes that President Donald Trump revealed previously.
