Indian woman shot dead by Indian-origin man in New Jersey
An Indian woman was killed and another badly injured after a 19-year-old male of Indian descent shot them outside a residential building in Carteret, New Jersey. Gaurav Gill of Kent, Washington, has been arrested for the murder of 29-year-old Jasvir Kaur.
Jasvir Kaur died from his injuries at a hospital, while the other victim, 20-year-old Gagandeep Kaur, remains in serious condition at University Hospital Newark.
The shooting happened on Wednesday morning, and the perpetrator was apprehended hours later, according to CBS News.

Jasvir Kaur died while her cousin Gagandeep suffered injuries
Accused Gaurav Gill and the injured woman Gagandeep Kaur met at an IELTS coaching institution in Nakodar, Punjab, According to TOI,
Jasbir Kaur, who was killed, was from Gorsian near Nurmahal, a small city in Punjab, and was hosting her cousin Gagandeep at her home when the event happened on Wednesday morning.
Jasbir Kaur works at Amazon’s plant in Carteret, New Jersey. Her spouse, a truck driver, was out of town when the event occurred, according to News12 New Jersey.

Jasbir and Gagandeep’s parents are small-scale farmers. Jasbir’s father, Kewal Singh, stated that both his daughter and her spouse were quite supportive. She relocated to the United States roughly five years ago, according to TOI.
Gagandeep traveled to the United States on a student visa. She recently discussed her academic difficulties with Jasbir.
Gagandeep and Gill came in the United States about the same time.
Surjit Kaur, Gagandeep’s mother, stated that they were unfamiliar with Gaurav and were unaware of any problems he may have had with their daughter.
Her husband worked as a school bus driver to supplement their income as small farmers, and they were able to send Gagandeep to the United States on a study visa.
Gill’s father, Charan, resides in Muscat, and his mother was hospitalised two days ago after learning about the incident, according to TOI.
