New Year’s Eve festivities have started globally as individuals eagerly commenced the countdown on December 31. The shift to 2025 will unfold in a remarkable series of festivities as every area commemorates the event at various moments because of the Earth’s rotation and differing time zones.

The celebration highlights worldwide togetherness, as from tiny islands in the Pacific to vibrant and bustling cities, everyone embraces New York with enthusiasm and excitement.

When the clock hit midnight on December 31, 2024, New Zealanders welcomed the New Year with stunning festivities, becoming the first nation globally to greet 2025.

In Auckland, New Zealand’s biggest city, the famous Sky Tower was the highlight of the celebrations, captivating onlookers with a spectacular fireworks show. Thousands congregated at the waterfront, applauding and singing as the sky shimmered with bright hues.

Christchurch and Queenstown similarly organized lively events that merged traditional Maori cultural displays with contemporary festivities.

Visitors from all over the globe converged in New Zealand to take part in the festivities.

Soon after Samoa and Tonga, the Chatham Islands, which are part of New Zealand, participate in the festivities. Situated in the UTC+12:45 time zone, these islands hold a unique status as one of the rare areas with a 45-minute time zone difference. Festivities in the Chatham Islands tend to be more subdued, frequently focusing on family reunions and local gatherings.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
