The English version of the post read, “Started a new chapter of my life with my family. Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Neeraj ❤️ Himani.”
The wedding news comes as Chopra prepares to leave for Potchefstroom, South Africa, later this month for an off-season training stint funded by the Sports Ministry. The 26-year-old will spend 31 days in the South African city to gear up for next year’s competitions.
Chopra, who last competed in the Diamond League Final in Brussels in September, has trained in Potchefstroom several times in the past, including ahead of the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. He also clinched a win in January 2020 at the ACNW League Meeting 1 in Potchefstroom with a throw of 87.86m.
Despite battling an adductor muscle injury throughout the year, Chopra competed admirably at major events, including the Paris Olympics and the Diamond League Final, where he even threw with a fractured left hand. While he previously mentioned consulting doctors regarding surgery, Chopra remains focused on refining his technique to improve his performance in the upcoming season.
