England opener Ben Duckett continued his impressive form by scoring a remarkable century on the second day of the second Test against Pakistan in Multan. Duckett’s score of 114, including 16 boundaries, not only boosted England’s position but also made him the quickest player to reach 2,000 Test runs in terms of balls faced.
Duckett, requiring 88 runs to reach 2,000 runs before the match, reached the milestone in just 2,293 balls, beating Tim Southee’s previous record of 2,418 balls to achieve the feat. In his 28th Test match and 51st innings, Duckett maintained a healthy average of 42.20.

Duckett hits his forth Test century
Duckett had scored his fourth Test century and also had 11 half-centuries to his credit. He showcased his quick scoring skills by reaching 50 runs in only 47 balls. The talented batsman controlled a 73-run opening partnership with Zak Crawley (27) before adding a 52-run partnership with Ollie Pope (29).
Duckett persisted with his attacking style, reaching his hundred late in the day. Duckett showcased his confidence against both spin and pace by elegantly hitting boundaries all across the field.
Even though Pakistan’s bowlers had some moments of success, Duckett’s confident footwork and precise shot selection prevented them from taking the match too far away.

The England batsman has surpassed 1,500 runs in the World Test Championship, becoming one of only seven English players to accomplish this milestone. Duckett has scored three centuries and nine fifties in the WTC, showcasing his significant role in England’s Test team.
