A civil defense mock drill is set to occur on Thursday, May 29, in the Indian states neighboring Pakistan—Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu, and Kashmir. The Civil Defence Directorate has released directives regarding this, as reported by Hindustan Times.
As per the HT report, the Haryana government is set to conduct a major civil defence exercise across the state, named “Operation Shield,” planned for May 29. This extensive exercise will take place in all 22 districts starting at 5 pm, intending to strengthen the state’s emergency readiness and response capabilities.
This civil defense mock exercise occurs weeks after India initiated ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan during the night of May 6 and 7, as a response to the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists on April 22.
