Missing TMKOC Actor Gurucharan Singh returns home; had left ‘wordly life’

Missing ‘TMKOC’ Actor Gurucharan Singh returns home

After he went missing on April 22 of this year, actor Gurucharan Singh made his way back home on Friday. The Delhi Police were cited in an India Today article stating that Gurucharan Singh “was on a religious journey.”

Gurucharan Singh is a known face among Television viewers with his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the ‘Taarak Mehta ka Ulta Chashma’ serial.

An investigation to locate the actor was underway, and the Delhi Police had filed a kidnapping complaint.

What Gurucharan told police on his return?

According to the report, Gurucharan conveyed to the police officials during the interrogation that he had left his worldly life and was on a religious journey.

The actor has stopped at gurudwaras in a number of cities recently, including Amritsar and Ludhiana. But later on, he realized he should return home.

The report claims that over the course of their interrogation, the police also discovered that Gurucharan Singh was a follower of a sect that practices meditation. He even expressed interest in taking a meditation trip to the Himalayas.

It was believed that Gurucharan Singh, who was in Delhi visiting his parents, would head back to Mumbai. His disappearance from April 22 was reported to the authorities by his family in a complaint.

Gurucharan Singh’s financial position

According to reports, Gurucharan Singh used credit cards frequently and maintained multiple bank accounts for financial transactions. Police also discovered that he had more than ten bank accounts.

According to a Free Press Journal report, he took out ₹14,000 from an ATM. He utilized cash and credit cards to pay off one card’s amount and transfer it to another.

Recently, Gurucharan Singh’s father, Hargit Singh, stated that he was unaware of his son’s financial difficulties.

Talking to Bombay Times, Hargit had said, “I had no idea about my son’s financial situation. He never told me anything about it. So I am not aware of all this.”

Gurucharan Singh’s work

On the work front, Gurcharan Singh has been seen playing the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular TV sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. He was a part of the show from 2008-2013.

After this, he left the show. There were reports that Gurucharan had a dispute with the show’s maker Asit Kumar Modi. Creative issues arose between the two.
