A meth lab being operated by a Tihar prison officer, a Delhi businessperson, and a Mumbai chemist was uncovered in Greater Noida on October 25, resulting in the seizure of 95 kg of drugs.
Based on information about an underground facility producing artificial narcotics for local consumption and international trade, a joint operation between NCB and Delhi Police’s Special Cell was launched in Greater Noida.
Mexican drug cartel involved in production of drugs
The search was carried out when it was discovered that individuals from ‘Cartel De Jalisco Nueva Generacion’, a Mexican drug cartel, were participating in drug manufacturing.
About 95 kilograms of methamphetamine in solid and liquid forms, as well as different precursor chemicals and advanced manufacturing equipment, were discovered during the operation.

Tihar jail warden, Delhi bussinessman present on premises during raid
One of the individuals taken into custody was a businessman from Delhi, who was located at the scene and had been previously arrested by the Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for drug-related charges.
He had formed relationships with the Tihar Jail warden, who reportedly helped him obtain the essential chemicals and equipment for manufacturing drugs.
Another chemist based in Mumbai was hired by the other suspect to supervise the production process, with quality inspections being conducted by a member of the cartel living in Delhi.
3 accused remanded in three-day police custody on October 27
All four suspects were presented before a magistrate on October 27, who remanded them to three days in police custody for further investigation. In a subsequent operation, an associate of the businessman was detained from Rajouri Garden.
During two separate raids carried out in early October, the Delhi Police Special Cell discovered a large global drug operation, confiscating drugs valued at around Rs 7,600 crore.
