Recent Fire Incidents in Delhi; Prompt Responses Amidst Challenges
In a different incident that day, an explosion involving two gas cylinders caused a fire to break out at a south Delhi residential building. Thankfully, there were no reported casualties in this incident. At 5:16 a.m., a distress call reporting a fire in a residential building in the Shahpur Jat area was promptly answered by the Delhi Fire Services. To put out the flames, three fire tenders were sent to the scene.
Two days prior, on Sunday, May 12, a chemical factory located in the Bawana area of Delhi was the scene of a massive fire that was followed by an explosion. At least seven people were injured in the incident; three of them are reportedly in critical condition.
Twenty fire tenders from Delhi Fire Services were sent to battle the factory fire as soon as they received reports of it. Nine people were pulled from the area and taken right away to a hospital close by so they could receive medical attention.
Authorities are looking into what caused the factory explosion in the Bawana industrial area and the fire that followed. The incident has been reported to the police, and as the investigation develops, more details should be forthcoming.
