Massive Drug Bust at Guwahati Railway Station: 65.5 kg of Suspected Cannabis Seized, Four Arrested
Guwahati, April 30:
In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) at Guwahati Railway Station seized 44 packets of suspected cannabis (ganja), weighing a total of 65.5 kilograms, from four individuals traveling aboard Train No. 12423 DN, the New Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express.
Acting on a tip-off, the GRPS team conducted a targeted check at Platform No. 1, where they intercepted the accused, who had boarded the train from Dimapur Railway Station en route to the national capital. Upon inspection, the narcotics were recovered from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Nongthombam Landson Singh (22), a resident of Wankhei Yumlembam Leikei, Brahmpur Aribam, under Porompat Police Station, Imphal East; Raireikhan Tungshang (25), a resident of Langdang village, under Ukhrul Police Station and District; James Kamei (25), a resident of Namdulong, under Porompat Police Station, Imphal East; and Pukhrambam Kanta Singh (24), a resident of Waheng Khumar Mayai Leikai, under Wangoi Police Station, Bishnupur.
Legal proceedings have been initiated under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Authorities have stated that further investigation is underway to determine the source and intended destination of the seized narcotics.
