Manipur has soared to the top of the National Games 2025 medal tally, marking an impressive performance from its athletes on Day 4. The state currently holds the highest medal count with a total of nine gold, seven silver, and three bronze medals. This achievement has placed Manipur in a strong position, with Services following closely in second place, just one medal behind.

Weightlifting Excellence:
Manipur’s dominance in weightlifting continued with Bindyarani Devi making history. The 55kg weightlifter lifted a total of 201kg, setting a new national record by snatching 88kg and clean and jerking 113kg to secure a gold medal. Her record-breaking feat not only added a valuable gold to Manipur’s tally but also showcased the state’s strength in the sport, which has long been a key area of excellence.
Wushu Performance:
In addition to weightlifting, Manipur’s athletes excelled in Wushu, claiming a solid total of one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. Among the standouts:
- Kangjam Monish Singh clinched a gold medal in men’s Taijijian.
- Wahengbam Bhumeswor Meetei earned a bronze in the same event.
- Khaidem Bidyashwori and N Malemnganba earned silver in the women’s Taijiquan and men’s Gunahu events, respectively.
- Oinam Bidyapati Chanu secured a bronze in the women’s 56kg sanda event.
These performances in weightlifting and wushu contributed heavily to Manipur’s rise to the top of the standings, with the state now holding 19 medals.
