Maharashtra Election Exit Polls 2024
The voter turnout in Maharashtra stands at 65.2%, the highest seen since 1995. Two reasons for this could be the division between Hindus and Muslims, as well as the increased participation of female voters who are beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin Yojana.
According to data from the Election Commission of India, the BJP is currently ahead in 125 constituencies in Maharashtra. This is the most successful election result for the BJP in recent times. During the Maharashtra assembly elections of 2019, the BJP secured victory in 105 seats.
While most exit polls on Wednesday forecasted a comfortable victory for the BJP-led Mahayuti, a few favored the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi and others predicted a close race between both alliances.
The India Today released the C-Voter exit poll on Thursday, which did not predict a winner and instead reported a tight competition on approximately sixty seats. According to the C-Voter survey, the Mahayuti alliance is predicted to have a small lead over the Congress-led MVA in the 288-seat Assembly, with projections showing Mahayuti with 112 seats and the MVA with 104. Furthermore, the exit poll shows that 61 seats are impossible to predict.
That’s what some of exit polls say
The majority mark stand at 145. If 50 out of the 61 seats switch to one side, Mahayuti will have 162 seats while MVA will have 154 seats. This once again provides a feeling of a highly competitive match.
