Azam Khan, senior leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), was given a 10-year prison sentence on Thursday, May 30, in connection with the forced eviction case. Azam Khan was also hit with a ₹14 lakh fine. Mohammad Azam Khan was found guilty on Wednesday by a Rampur, Uttar Pradesh court in an eight-year-old case of beating the home’s owner and forcing them to leave.
Seema Singh Rana, the district government counsel and MP/MLA court, stated: “Azam Khan was found guilty in a matter yesterday, and the sentencing amount was announced today. He has been given a ten-year prison sentence. He has additionally been fined ₹14 Lakhs in total.”

In December 2016, the issue concerned Rampur’s Dungarpur Basti. Abrar, the complainant, has filed a complaint against Barkat Ali, a retired Circle Officer, and Azam Khan. He claimed that in order to persuade him to leave the residence, they beat him, broke into his belongings, and forced entry.

Azam Khan’s wife and former MP Tazeen Fatima was freed from Rampur District Jail last week after being granted bail by the Allahabad High Court. After being released from prison, she declared, “Injustice has been defeated and somewhere justice is alive and justice has been delivered through the court.”
Azam Khan, Wife, and Son Granted Bail in Birth Certificate Forgery Case
In the matter of the forged birth certificate, the court granted bail to Azam Khan, his wife Fatima, and their son Abdullah Azam Khan on May 24. Following her conviction by the local court, Fatima was detained at the Rampur jail in October of last year.
They were given a seven-year prison term by the Rampur Sessions Court in connection with a case of birth certificate falsification involving Abdullah. The matter began on January 3, 2019, when Azam Khan and his wife obtained two birth certificates for their infant, according to complaints made by Akash Saxena, the current Rampur BJP MLA.
