Ghosh resigned from his position as principal after the shocking rape-murder incident
From February 2021 to September 2023, Ghosh was the principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Even though he was moved in October 2023, he surprisingly came back to his position at the hospital in just a month.
He persisted in his position until the day when the intern doctor was savagely raped and killed in a conference room at the hospital. The discovery of her partially naked body on August 9 led to widespread protests and a spate of violence in West Bengal.
Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer working with the Kolkata Police, was taken into custody in relation to the heinous crime of rape and murder.
