The Punjab Police has decided to revoke the extra security provided to former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal after objections from its Delhi counterpart and a complaint to the Election Commission.
“Time to time, we receive reports regarding threats to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal, which we forward to the concerned agencies. In accordance with the instructions from the Delhi police and the Election Commission today, we removed the component of Punjab police in the security of Kejriwal ji,” Director General of Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav told reporters.
“We expressed our worries to them.” We will stay in contact with them. “We will provide our feedback to the Delhi police,” stated the top officer.

The development occurs ahead of the elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly on February 5. The counting of votes will take place on February 8.
Kejriwal, who is a Z-plus protectee, benefits from an extensive security team of 63 members, which includes a pilot, escort units, close protection agents, and search-and-frisk teams. Moreover, 15 uniformed members from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) have been assigned for his security.
On January 18, a stone was hurled at Arvind Kejriwal’s vehicle, which his party attributed to the BJP, while the AAP chief was campaigning in his New Delhi district. The BJP asserted that the car of the AAP leader struck two BJP members.
