Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa arrested in murder case
Darshan Thoogudeepa, a popular Kannada actor, and his wife, Pavithra Gowda, have been detained in Bengaluru for allegedly being involved in the murder of a man. In addition to the couple, the police detained ten other people in connection with the case.
The 47-year-old actor and his wife were apprehended from their farmhouse in Mysuru and brought back to Bengaluru for questioning.
Renuka Swamy (33), was found dead near Bengaluru’s Sumanahalli Bridge. He worked at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga and allegedly sent disparaging texts to Darshan’s wife.

Three persons confessed to the murder yesterday, claiming they did so on the directions of actor Darshan.
Swamy’s parents filed a missing complaint, but were told to wait two days. (He had just been missing for one day). The murder was reported on June 9, and a complaint was filed.
The actor and his wife were arrested following a complaint filed by Swamy’s mother.
Investigations are underway to determine whether the actor was directly involved in the murder or was a part of the scheme.

Autopsy report show Swamy had injuries on nose, back, leg and chin
According to the postmortem report obtained by India Today TV, Swamy sustained injuries to his nose, back, leg, and chin. He had 14 or 15 injury marks on his body. According to the study, Swamy was most likely hit by a heavy item, and injury marks from a rod were discovered on his body.
The post-mortem report will be turned over to the police on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, police have tightened security around Darshan’s house in RR Nagar.
Darshan is a well regarded actor in the Kannada cinema industry. He also produces and distributes sandalwood. He began his career in television and later moved on to the big screen. Some of his superhit films are ‘Kalasipalya’, ‘Saarathi’, ‘Yajamana’, and ‘Robert’. He was last seen in ‘Kaatera’, which hits theatres in 2023.
