Jaya Bachchan recently disclosed her and her husband Amitabh Bachchan’s net worth in the election affidavit as she prepared to run for her fifth term in the Rajya Sabha as an Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party candidate.
Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan’s Combined Assets Revealed in Election Affidavit
According to a report, Jaya declared her net worth for 2022–2023 to be ₹1.63 crore. In contrast, Amitabh Bachchan’s reported net worth for the same year is ₹273.74 crore.
Jaya, who was last seen in the film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, stated in the affidavit that she has ₹10.11 crore in her bank account. Her spouse has ₹120.45 crore in his bank account. The Bachchan couple’s combined movable property has been valued at ₹849.11 crore, while the immovable property amounts to ₹729.77 crore. This indicates that they have assets worth over ₹1,578 crore in total.
According to the election affidavit, Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan’s combined assets include real estate obtained from a variety of sources. Jaya’s income came from her work as an MP, endorsement deals, and her acting fees. Aside from his acting fees, Amitabh is mentioned as receiving interest, dividends, rent, capital gains, and money from a solar plant.

Jaya Bachchan reportedly owns a car valued at ₹9.82 lakh and jewellery valued at ₹40.97 crore, according to another report in The Times of India. However, Amitabh Bachchan is the owner of 16 cars, including a Range Rover and two Mercedes, valued at ₹17.66 crore, and jewelry valued at ₹54.77 crore.
Jaya Bachchan and her husband Amitabh Bachchan disclosed their combined wealth of ₹1,000 crore in 2018.
Jaya Bachchan was first elected in 2004 as a Samajwadi Party member of parliament, serving as Uttar Pradesh’s representative in the Rajya Sabha until March 2006. She was given another term, which ran from June 2006 to July 2010.
She was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha from the Samajwadi Party in 2012 for a third term and again in 2018 for a fourth term.
