In a decisive and swift anti-infiltration operation codenamed Operation Shivshakti, the Indian Army successfully neutralized two terrorists attempting to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir early Wednesday morning.
Acting on credible and synchronized intelligence provided by the Indian Army’s own intelligence units and the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), alert troops deployed along the LoC detected suspicious movement in the early hours of July 30, 2025.Â

Following the encounter, a tREAD:horough search of the area led to the recovery of three weapons, along with other war-like stores, believed to have been carried by the terrorists. The recovery of these arms highlights the preparedness of the infiltrators and the significance of the operation in disrupting their plans.
As of now, the operation remains in progress, with security forces maintaining heightened vigilance along the LoC to ensure no further breaches occur.
They said the driver of the vehicle, Azan Hamid of Srinagar, was arrested and is being questioned for his terror links.
The arms and ammunition were believed to have been smuggled from across the border and were being transported to Kashmir, the officials said.
More arrests and recovery are expected in the case, they said.
