Mohammed Siraj takes 200 wickets in International Cricket

Mohammed Siraj reached the 200‑international wicket milestone on Day 2 of the fifth Test against England at The Oval, dismissing Ollie Pope for 22 with a sharp inswinger that clipped the pads and was confirmed via DRS. Just a day earlier, he had been only one wicket short, with 199 international scalps from 100 matches.

Siraj’s journey to this milestone reflects consistent excellence across all formats. Entering the match, he had already accumulated 114 Test wickets in around 40 Tests, along with 71 in ODIs and 14 in T20Is—solidifying his spot as a key member of India’s pace attack.

Siraj claimed the big wicket of Joe Root

Mohammed Siraj did dismiss Joe Root in the second session of Day 2 of the fifth Test at The Oval—and it was a crucial breakthrough for India. Siraj had Root trapped LBW for 29, with the delivery jagging in off the seam and stranding him plumb in front. England reviewed, but ball-tracking confirmed Root was out—three reds and a key wicket for India.
