MEA condemns violent attack on Hindu Sabha temple by Khalistani extremists in Canada
India criticized the “acts of violence” carried out by extremists and separatists at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Ontario, and asked the Justin Trudeau administration to provide sufficient protection for all religious sites in Canada.
“We call on the Government of Canada to ensure that all places of worship are protected from such attacks. We also expect that those indulging in violence will be prosecuted,” the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randir Jaiswal said while addressing a press conference.

“We remain deeply concerned about the safety and security of Indian nationals in Canada. The outreach of our Consular officers to provide services to Indians and Canadian citizens alike will not be deterred by intimidation, harassment and violence,” they further said.
Peel Regional Police announced a protest at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton on Sunday, where demonstrators were seen in unverified social media videos holding banners endorsing Khalistan. The videos allegedly displayed instances of physical fights, where individuals clashed and used flagpoles to hit each other at the temple premises.
In response, the High Commission of India in Ottawa issued a strong statement on Monday, condemning the incident as an attack by “anti-India” elements.
“We have witnessed a violent disruption today (November 3), orchestrated by anti-India elements outside the consular camp co-organized with the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, near Toronto,” the High Commission stated.
