IAS couple’s daughter dies by suicide in Mumbai
A 27-year-old woman, daughter of Maharashtra cadre IAS officers, committed suicide early on Monday by jumping from the 10th floor of a high-rise flat in South Mumbai, police said.
The woman named Lipi died by suicide at 4 a.m. in a Suruchi residence near Mantralaya, the state secretariat. She was a legal student doing her LLB in Haryana’s Sonipat. According to police, she was concerned about her academic achievement, which prompted her to take such drastic step.

Lipi was immediately transferred to GT Hospital and proclaimed dead. A suicide note was discovered at the scene, in which she said that no one should be responsible for her death.
A case of unnatural death was registered at the Cuffe Parade police station.
Victim belonged to high academic family
Vikas Rastogi, Lipi’s father, is the principal secretary of Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Department. Her mother, Radhika Rastogi, is also a top IAS officer working for the state government.
