A 35-year-old software engineer has taken her own life in Hyderabad, only six months following her marriage. Devika took her own life at her residence in Hyderabad on Sunday evening. Her spouse Satish, who is also a techie, told the police and Devika’s relatives that she had committed suicide by hanging.

The couple tied the knot six months ago at a lavish ceremony in Goa. After Devika’s passing, her family claimed that Satish had been tormenting her for dowry, which drove her to the brink.

Reports indicate that Devika and Satish were co-workers who began a romantic relationship after their encounter at the office.

They ultimately chose to wed, and both families consented. The wedding occurred at the end of August last year.

Local media has stated that the pair argued on Sunday night, prompting Devika to confine herself in a room. She didn’t answer Satish’s knocks, so he thought she was asleep.

When she hadn’t emerged from the room the following morning, he forced the door open to discover her hanging. He subsequently notified the authorities and her relatives.

In a report filed at Raidurgam police station, Devika’s mother Ramalakshami has claimed that Satish tormented her due to dowry issues, which may have led her to take her own life. Authorities have stated that an investigation is underway.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
