Haryana Polls: Gurnam Singh Charuni, who led protests against 3 farm laws, loses his deposit
Vote counting for the Haryana Assembly elections is in progress. Contrary to all exit polls, BJP is on track to win a majority and lead the state government for the third consecutive term.
Gurnam Singh Charuni, a farmer leader who spearheaded the protests against the 3 farm laws, also ran for election from the Pehowa seat. However, Charuni, of Sanyukt Sangharsh Party, got a rude shock as he could muster only 1170 votes from the constituency and lost his deposit.
Mandeep Chatha of Congress won the seat securing 64548 votes, while BJP’s Jai Bhagwan Sharma got 57995 votes.
