October 27, 2025 – The brutal killing of farmer Ramswaroop Dhakad (40), crushed under a Mahindra Thar SUV in Ganeshpura village, has triggered widespread protests in Guna district, with police yet to apprehend the prime accused, BJP Booth Committee President Mahendra Nagar. Dhakad’s teenage daughters, Tanisha and Krishna (both 17), were beaten and stripped during the attack, linked to a land dispute, fueling demands for a CBI probe as locals decry political interference.

The incident occurred at 2 p.m. on October 26 near the Madhya Pradesh–Rajasthan border, when Nagar and a mob of 13–15, including his brother Kanhaiya, Harish, Gautam, and several women, ambushed Ramswaroop and his wife Sushila (38) over a six-bigha ancestral plot in Pachlavada, Rajasthan.

The FIR filed at Fatehgarh police station states the mob beat Ramswaroop with rods, fracturing his limbs, before Nagar allegedly ran him over with his Thar, killing him. Tanisha and Krishna, who intervened, were dragged, assaulted, and stripped, sustaining fractures and lacerations. Two relatives who tried to help were also injured, one with a possible spinal fracture. The attackers fired warning shots and fled.

Police have charged 18 suspects under IPC Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempted murder), 147 (rioting), and 354 (outraging women’s modesty). Three minor aides have been arrested, and Nagar’s Thar was seized, with forensic evidence of blood and tissue recovered. Raids continue in Rajasthan’s Baran and Kota, where Nagar is believed to be hiding, but his political ties have sparked allegations of protection. Revenue records confirm the disputed land’s ownership under Ramswaroop’s uncle since 1998.

Hundreds of farmers, backed by Congress and Samyukta Kisan Morcha, blocked Guna’s collectorate on Monday, burning effigies of CM Mohan Yadav. Congress MLA Rishi Agrawal called it “state-backed terror,” demanding a CBI inquiry. The BJP denied Nagar’s active role, with spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi stating, “The law will act impartially.” The NHRC has sought a state report within two weeks.

Sushila and her daughters, hospitalized with injuries, vowed to fight on. “This land is ours; so is justice,” Tanisha said. With Guna tense and CRPF deployed, the case tests Madhya Pradesh’s law enforcement amid rising fears of further violence in a region where land disputes claim hundreds annually, per NCRB data.
