A court in Kerala’s Trivandrum has handed down death sentence to Greeshma, convicted last week for poisoning her beau Sharon Raj, to weasel out of their romantic relationship.
The order was pronounced by Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court.

Greeshma has also been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment for offence of kidnapping/ abducting to murder (S. 364 IPC) and 5 years of imprisonment for offence under S. 201 IPC.
The court had also convicted Greeshma’s maternal uncle Nirmalakumaran Nair under section 201 of IPC for destruction of evidence. He has been given 3 years of imprisonment.
Greeshma’s mother, Sindhukumari was acquitted.
As per the case, Greeshma invited Sharon to her house and gave him an ayurvedic concoction laced with poison. Her mother and uncle were accused of destroying the evidence by concealing the bottle of poison.
Greeshma has been found guilty under Section 364 (kidnapping or abducting to murder), 328 (causing hurt by poison), 302 (punishment for murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence and giving false evidence to screen offender) of IPC.
